Kitna is a spending tracker for Android made by Datron. In short: what you put into Kitna stays on your phone. We never see it.

What Kitna reads

• Statements you choose. When you upload a bank or card statement, Kitna reads that file on your phone. Passwords for locked PDFs are used once to open the file and are never saved.
• Bank alerts, if you allow it. With notification access turned on, Kitna reads notifications from a fixed list of bank, UPI and card apps to pick up new payments. If you also switch on bank SMS, it reads bank messages shown by your Messages app. It does not read your SMS inbox. You can turn notification access off at any time in Android settings.
• Text you paste or type. Pasted messages and transactions you add by hand.

Where it goes

Nowhere. Kitna's release build has no internet permission, so it cannot send anything off your phone. There is no account, no analytics and no advertising.

Your transactions are stored in the app's private storage and are left out of Android backups. If Android backup is on, your rules, categories and settings are backed up to your own Google account so they come back on a new phone. Transactions do not.

Your control

• Export every transaction as a CSV from Settings, Your data.
• Delete everything from Settings with Clear all data, or by uninstalling the app.
• Turn off notification access or bank SMS reading at any time.

Children

Kitna is not meant for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them. It does not collect anything from anyone.
